I, John Bluebottle, am a second-generation art and antiques dealer.  Due to a variety of circumstances, I am able to divide my time equally between the Northeast United States and Europe.  This good fortune permits me to discover and obtain fine antique oil paintings at their source and offer them to my clients at realistic prices, seeking out affordable works by well-documented artists.  I own all of my paintings.  Nothing is sold on commission or consignment.  I have selected each offering with regard to the individuality of my tastes and that of my clients.

John Bluebottle Fine Art specializes in antique oil paintings of the 18th and 19th centuries, with an emphasis on Barbizon, Realist and French Academic artists.  We also incorporate a major focus on Old Masters and Orientalist art.

Each painting is exhaustively researched and fully guaranteed as described as to age, authenticity and condition.  All works are offered at most competitive values.  We ship world-wide.  Shipping insurance is mandatory and will be charged to the purchaser.  Any work may be returned for any reason within five days of receipt, provided the item is returned in “as received” condition.  After seven days, returns will be accepted only upon written notification by an art professional (museum, major gallery or an academic familiar with the artist and period) that the painting was inaccurately described or was inaccurately attributed.  We will charge only the actual cost of return shipping and insurance.  We ship solely via FedEx Express, which has proven to be the most reliable, efficient and economical of the shipping services.  In the unlikely event of damage during shipping, we will assist in every way to resolve the issue.
